North East	Over 60	Over 10	The current crisis with a "Police Chief" vs a "Public Safety Director" who is beholden to the Mayor and Council smacks of cronyism and inhibits the work of any acting Police Department. When one of the Councilman's son is a member of the Police Dept it is easy to see why he would want to have the head of the Dept under his thumb.
North West	Unanswered	Over 10	Verona needs a more professional acting police dept, who are fair and impartial to all. They should be more community friendly and helpful.
North West	30 to 45	Over 10	Very satisified with the Police Department but they need a uniformed Chief to over see them, not a civilian Public Safety Director.

North West	46 to 60	Over 10	When my home was robbed in broad daylight they caught no one. From the local newspapers it seems our police spend an inordinate amount of time looking for expired vehicle registration stickers.

North West	46 to 60	Over 10	Over the past year the town has hired a couple of new police officers. There are many reports these new officers are harassing many of the town's teenagers and younger drivers in this town. The Mayor has issued directives that the police department become a stronger source of income for the the town's and in the last year the VPD has earned a reputation similiar to the very poor performance and over-reacting reputation of the Cedar Grove Police. AND there SHOULD BE A POLICE CHIEF running the Verona Police Department.

South East	30 to 45	Over 10	these guys are great. i know a few from living in town and they all seem competent, caring individuals. i have always been happy with the police.
South East	46 to 60	Over 10	Police visibility is high; response is within 2-3 minutes for calls which I have place from the residence or my car. couldn't ask for better; personnel respond professionally and emphathetically.
South West	30 to 45	6 to 10	I would like to see the police (visably) enforce speeding. There appears to be less enforcement especially along Bloomfield Ave, Lakeside and various cut thru streets.

South West	30 to 45	Over 10	More speeding enforcement is necessary! I like the mobile speed signs - more would be nice. One has been installed on Hillside Avenue for a week now, but it is still not operational. What is the holdup? What a waste of a valuable asset!
South West	30 to 45	Over 10	I think that the police let too much in the way of traffic violations go ignored. I also think that the police might be a deterent to the fighting at the middle school...when you have a boy who is in fights several times a year and he has hurt someone badly isn't it time for the police to get involved? Are we waiting for him to put someone in the hospital?

South West	46 to 60	Over 10	Whenever my burglar alarm has gone off, the police responded in seconds, not minutes. Considering how under-staffed they are, I think they do a great job.
