Parking Availability in the Business District
Quadrant You Live In Age Years Living in Verona Comments
North East 30 to 45 Over 10 What business could survive here? Parking stinks thats why all we have here is car rentals and car lots.. we are becoming route 22 in union not "Mayberry" . Infact, I wish people would stop refering to us as Mayberry. It is so far from the mark.
North East 46 to 60 Over 10 Parking is tough on the Avenue. I've always found it interesting that we will go to the mall and park "miles" away without complaint - but "downtown" feel it's TOO FAR to walk a block.
North East 46 to 60 Over 10 Still need need additional parking in the vicinity of the Post office.
North East 46 to 60 Over 10 Adequate parking has always been a problem in the business district. Unless the town can purchase property near Bloomfield Ave. to convert to a public parking lot, I do not see any easy answer.
North East Over 60 Over 10 I usually avoid shopping in the center of Verona, because of the horrendous parking situation.
North West 30 to 45 Over 10 The parking lot behind Terry's is very nice, the parking lot on grove Ave is nice but really needs to be cleaned up.
North West 30 to 45 Over 10 maybe some residents should walk when needing to go to avenue --- it really isn't too far for everyone
North West 46 to 60 Over 10 parking can be a hassle in town.
North West 46 to 60 Over 10 I don't have trouble getting a spot.
North West 46 to 60 Over 10 Somewhat "dissatisfied" because there are limited facilities to enhance or increase the number of parking spaces. STILL, there is no confidence that all possible solutions to bad parking downtown have been explored.
North West Over 60 6 to 10 I use Gould Street and never have a problem.
North West Over 60 Over 10 27 spaces at The Verona Diner
South East 30 to 45 1 to 5 Parking near post office is very difficult, so I usually go to Cedar Grove or West Orange instead.
South East 30 to 45 Over 10 the time has come to look into buying a piece of property, or the realignment of lakeside and park place would help. maybe we should consider a tier garage in lot 2.
South East 46 to 60 1 to 5 It is difficult and somewhat dangerous to park in the business district. Eliminating parking on one side of Bloomfield ave. and buying some property and putting more parking areas in would help.
South East 46 to 60 6 to 10 The lack of accessible parking is what keeps me from stopping to use the local stores on Bloomfield.
South East 46 to 60 Over 10 Lack of adequate parking throughout business district, with exception of Lot #1, lack of comprehensive planning on part of township for meeting district public and private needs; failure to identify opportunities for increased cooperative parking between private owners on the township's part. failure on the part of the township to lead efforts to increase use of existing private parking at higher rate of efficiency.
South West 30 to 45 6 to 10 Enforce parking regulations and limit permit parking spots.
South West 30 to 45 6 to 10 Although I am usually able to find a space I think more spaces would help to encourage patronage at local businesses.
South West 30 to 45 Over 10 this is not a walking shopping town-- unless u like hair and nail salon's or frame shops--
South West 30 to 45 Over 10 It's not much of a business district anyway, so parking is adequate, I guess.
South West 30 to 45 Over 10 not sure what the answer is but I avoid shopping there sometimes due to parking .
South West 46 to 60 Over 10 Too many spaces in the municipal lot are reserved for permit holders.
South West 46 to 60 Over 10 I think the parking meters are driving business away. There should be 1/2hour free parking. That will dissuade the NYC commuters from leaving their cars parked on Bloomfield Avenue all day. I know from experience that if someone gets a parking ticket while at your store, they won't come back.
South West 46 to 60 Over 10 There are too many reserved spaces for permits in the municipal lot.
South West 46 to 60 Over 10 Everyone is aware of this problem- it threatens Verona taxpaying businesses by encouraging shopping elsewhere. Verona needs to consider aquiring property in town for parking- Concentration of a prosperous central business district should be encouraged rather then allowing retail to spread so shoppers are encouraged to park and walk
South West 46 to 60 Over 10 Better than Montlcair and Caldwell...
