Responsiveness of the Mayor and Town Council | |||

Unanswered | 30 to 45 | 6 to 10 | I believe they spend too much time patting themselves and not enough time actually listening to what the public has to say. They do a good job of giving the impression that they do, but when it comes down to it, they really don't and what they want implement gets done no matter what the public feels. |
North East | 30 to 45 | 1 to 5 | Only one council member, Jay Sniatkowski, is attempting to curb the speeding problem in town. |
North East | 30 to 45 | 6 to 10 | Too much talk, not enough action. Lot's of "town meetings" with little or no real follow-up. |
North East | 30 to 45 | Over 10 | it is hard not to think that that Mr Huber's being forced out is not a personal vendetta on the part of Mr Detore, Ms. Schwartz & Mr. Condorelli against him. Mr Huber has more functional knowledge of this town than anyone on the Council, is always ready with an answer (or gets back to you as soon as he has an answer) & with the exception of Mr. Sniatkowski & Mr Robbins is without a conflict of interest or personal political agenda. This town deserves an explanation. Exactly how will we save money hiring an outside town manager who will require years to acquire the knowledge base Mr. Huber has. Clearly this move is bad for Verona & therefore reeks of politics as usual a la Treffinger. |
North West | Unanswered | Over 10 | A self sreving group with the exception of Jay. |
North West | 30 to 45 | Over 10 | It seems like lately the council wants to have control of everything putting aside the taxpayers thoughts, feelings and ideas. |
North West | 46 to 60 | Over 10 | the town has become shabby |
North West | 46 to 60 | Over 10 | what idiot allowed that bd of ed bookkeeper to get at $15,000 raise? And Treffinger and DeMiro and the rest of them? jeez.... |
North West | 46 to 60 | Over 10 | Verona once again is in the hands of power-hungry, selfeffacing, totalarian Mayor who appears to run the Council with an iron grip. His orders to the Police Dept. and his determination to fire the Town's current Town Manager are totally uncalled for. If you attend town meetings OR watch on TV you'll see how much he MUST be in control of all aspects of town management. Mayor Detore is exactly what this town DOES NOT need. |
South East | 30 to 45 | 1 to 5 | Mayor position s/b elected. Highly approve of Jay S. and Tim R's efforts to make change. |
South East | 30 to 45 | Over 10 | Jay and Bob yes... |
South East | 30 to 45 | Over 10 | seem likes too much personal agendas. one member can not even control her own kid. |
South East | 46 to 60 | 6 to 10 | I think the Town Council is cordial in it's listening politely to residents speak about their issues. However, the Town Council has their own agenda which often doesn't reflect what the towns people want. |
South East | 46 to 60 | Over 10 | Current or former mayor's and council? Overalll, the actions and collaboration of former and current council members is another asset that builds value in Verona; |
South East | Over 60 | Over 10 | The mayor and council are aloof to the public. |
South West | 30 to 45 | 6 to 10 | Enforce Accountability with all Town management in every department. Weekly reports to the taxpayers not the Council and mayor. |
South West | 30 to 45 | 6 to 10 | I very much appreciate the efforts of the mayor and council. |
South West | 30 to 45 | Over 10 | As a member of the Council, I may not always agree with the other members but I will give credit where it is do, I know we always are quick to return calls and letters that are given to us. |
South West | 30 to 45 | Over 10 | i think the mayor and deputy mayor are out for themselves and dont have the people first in mind-- i dont trust them----- |
South West | 30 to 45 | Over 10 | I pay my taxes on time. I have recently heard of a situation where someone owed 6 or 7 thousand and after this person tried to pay with an altered certified check the township went back to check on things more closely and found that the person owed double that amount! If that is true, how does that happen? Are there fines? I understand that the taxes are high...but I struggle to pay on time....shouldn't everyone have to do that? Is there a lot of uncollected taxes? Maybe collect that before raising my taxes again. |
South West | 30 to 45 | Over 10 | I think the council and mayor should be a little more respectful to those who disagree with them at meetings |
South West | 46 to 60 | Over 10 | The mayor remains aloof and distant from the public unless he can get his picture in the paper. |
South West | 46 to 60 | Over 10 | The way they treated the town manager at a meeting recently was horrible. Who do these people think they are? |
South West | 46 to 60 | Over 10 | The council appears to avoid including public opinion in its decision making process. |
